Study of the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS) in England. Goal is to enhance the value of teaching and disseminate good teaching practices by recognizing (financially and otherwise) exemplary teachers and providing them with funds for curriculum development (with assumed spread of good ideas).

Article criticizes vision of good teaching as limited to reflective practice. Also criticizes NTFS for not having a coherent strategy for getting the 'best' practices from the exemplary teachers to other teachers.
